This question is the hot topic of debate for many people around the World as the war in Iran drags on. People side with Iran; they don’t believe Iran has pursued nuclear weapon ambitions based on the religious recommendation of Iran’s supreme leader. People who side with the US and Israel believe that Iran hasn’t abandoned nuclear ambitions. Before we conclude, we should analyze the facts.
The history of Iran’s nuclear programs started in the early 1950s, with the support of the US and Western countries. After the Islamic Revolution, during the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980s, Iran started to revive its nuclear Peaceful program into a nuclear ambition. This clandestine operation wasn’t revealed until 2002 by the Iranian resistance organization in exile. This revelation raised concerns for the international community, especially the US and Israel, which are Iran’s arch enemies. In the early 2000s, Western countries sanctioned Iran, intending to stop Iran’s nuclear ambitions. The sanctions didn’t work, so the US and Israel have started the war with Iran. As the war drags on, many religious leaders, Iran’s allies, and Peace activists criticized the US and Israel. They considered the US and Israel to be aggressors. They don’t believe Iran is pursuing nuclear ambitions based on the Iranian supreme leader’s recommendation. Because Iran is a theocratic country where the supreme leader has the ultimate power, his words are considered the law. Many of Iran’s supporters complained that North Korea has nukes. Why is Iran forbidden?
Now, we should analyze Iran’s theocratic regime enemies’ reasoning. Why Iran has more than a dozen nuclear facilities, only one of which produces electricity. Why are many Iranian nuclear facilities underground and in mountains to prevent military strikes? In the world has 30 countries with nuclear peaceful programs. No country strikes other countries over a peaceful nuclear program. Iran’s regime enemies suspected Iran of using a North Korean strategy to achieve nuclear ambitions. A North Korean strategy was to deny until achieving. Iran had fired missiles at the target over 2500 km, which means the Supreme Leader’s recommendation had been violated. The Supreme Leader publicly forbade the country from producing missiles with targets more than 2000 km. No country sanctions other countries for peaceful nuclear programs. All countries have nuclear peaceful programs; they voluntarily invited the IAEA for assistance to minimize nuclear environmental disasters. Iran’s enemies defended that, if Iran has nukes, other countries in the Middle East, like Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and others, will pursue nukes. This will make the world so much more dangerous because the more countries have nukes, the higher the chance of nuclear war.
