Rabies is a dangerous virus. Rabies can infect humans through animal bites. Some animals can carry rabies such as dogs, bats, foxes, raccoons, etc. After you get bitten by animals, it often takes weeks or months to have symptoms. When the victims have rabies symptoms, there is no effective treatment. The victims are likely to die, only a handful of people can survive when they have rabies symptoms.
If you get bitten by animals, even if you can’t find any bite marks, you should go to the doctor to check for rabies. When you go to the doctor, the doctor may ask you about what kind of animal bit you, was the animal aggressive? Pet or wild animal bit you? If you get bitten by a pet, the doctor may test the pet if it carries rabies or not. If you get bitten by a wild animal, the doctor may test you for rabies. If you test positive for rabies, the doctor will give you rabies vaccines.
There are around 59,000 people deaths worldwide caused by rabies. In the US, it is about five people deaths a year. Anyone who loves wild animals should take precautions to protect themselves and their family from rabies. Rabies can be found in the saliva of animals. Even though you don’t get bitten by wild animals, wild animal saliva can infect you through open cuts, mouths, eyes, etc. Scientists found rabies in animals before animals showed rabies symptoms. If you often interact with wild animals you should take rabies vaccines or ask doctors for advice.
