Since Russia started full-scale war with Ukraine. Many Western media exaggerate the threat of Russia invading other European countries. I don’t think Russia wants to invade other European countries. Why? Nowadays, the big and powerful countries can’t invade other countries without justification like a few hundred years ago.
Russia and EU countries
Look at the map above. We can see the threat of Russia invading other EU countries is baseless. Russia borders with Norway and Finland in the north-west. Finland joined NATO a long time ago. Norway and Sweden joined NATO in 2023. Even Russia didn’t like it, but it didn’t care because those countries don’t pose threats to Russia. Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania joined NATO a long time ago. Even Russia opposed those three countries joining NATO, but it didn’t consider they to be threats to Russia’s security. So why did Russia wage war on Georgia? Because Georgia borders Turkey and Turkey is a NATO member. In addition, Georgia borders with Russia’s troubled regions like Chechnya. Russia is afraid if Georgia is a NATO member. It may provide weapons to radical Islamists in Russia’s troubled regions.
Invading other countries cost a lot of money and human resources. For example, Russia invades Latvia, how can you control Latvians who speak no Russian language? Is it worth controlling other people’s lands? That was why England and France abandoned many colonies. This is why I never trust any media from any country. I often listen to both sides and do research before any conclusions.
Why the Ukraine war should stop? Because no body can benefit from that war. The EU has a lot of social problems that need money. The US is going to bankrupt if it supports the prolonged war in Ukraine. Ukraine and Russia are real victims. They need to talk to one another to stop the war. Look at many neighboring countries around the world, they fought one another for many years. Eventually, they settled the differences and lived in Peace.
People who support the prolonged Ukraine war. You don’t support Ukraine, you support destruction of Ukraine. Ukraine is not going to win the war. Ukraine can win the war if the US, UK, France send troops to fight with Russia. This may lead to WW3.
