World Cup is the biggest festival in the World that occurs every four years. Except the US and Canada, the rest of the world consider World Cup is religion. Unlike previous World Cup was held in Summer, this year World Cup is held in the Winter because the host of World Cup Qatar is so hot in Summer.
Many people may assume that Qatar was chosen for World Cup 2022, is unprecedented because Qatar has never been qualified for World Cup since Qatar’s independence in 1971. You are wrong, Italy held World Cup 1934 without qualification for World Cup before. So it is understandable when FIFA chose Qatar as Host for World Cup 2022, even though it is still controversial until now. World Cup 2022 occurs from 21st Nov – 18th Dec with 32 teams from five continents. World Cup is the festival that many countries with differences from religion to political can get along together. In addition, World Cup can be a bridge for many countries to understand one to another.
The World Cup was born in 1928, almost 100 years ago. Uruguay was chosen as first Host World Cup in 1930. In the first World Cup had 13 teams compete for trophy, Uruguay won trophy that year. French hosted last World Cup in 1938 before World War 2, but Italy won trophy. After 12 years of suspension because of World War 2, World Cup resumed in 1950 hosted by Brazil but Uruguay again won trophy. In 1954 was the first televised World Cup that hosted by Switzerland but West Germany won trophy, from 1954 World Cup started become popular around the World.
