Celine Dion is a renowned singer around the world. The journey to becoming a famous singer is not easy for everyone, especially poor people who don’t have a good connection to the entertainment industry. Celine Dion overcame many obstacles and hurdles to become a renowned singer today. Before I read her biology, I thought her mother tongue was English because she was born and grew up in Canada. I was wrong, in Canada, if you live in Quebec province, French is an official language. English is a secondary language. Many Quebec people are not fluent in English. Celine Dion was one of them.
She was born in 1968 in a large family. She had thirteen siblings, her mother was a homemaker, and her father was a butcher. She is the youngest of 14 siblings in her family. She had a passion for music when she was a kid. She suffered many accidents as a young child, including an accident at five years old when she was struck by a car as her father and her brother looked on. She was hospitalized briefly with a concussion. In a 1994 interview with People newspaper, she recalled that she didn’t regret for losing her adolescence to follow her dream to become a singer. At 18 years old, she saw Micheal Jackson’s performance, she was confident that she would one day become a singer like him. Her manager believed in her, but first, she had to change her appearance because she had two teeth that looked like a vampire. In addition, her English was poor. In 1989, she was sent to a special English center to improve her English in the USA. Her name is attached to the Titanic movie music ( My Heart Will Go On).

Today, she still speaks English with a French accent, but her English songs are loved around the world. I hope her biology can motivate English learners like me and you guys.
